Admission Requirements

Piping and Drumming (June 30 to July 4, 2008)

Students of all ages are welcome. All students must provide their own instruments and other supplies.

Dancing (June 29 to July 1 Or June 30th to July 4, 2008)

In order to ensure that all participants receive maximum value from the course, we require that all students be familiar with the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, and Scottish Lilt. Dancers are asked to bring their own swords.

Tuition

Fees:

          Piping and Drumming $360.00 Canadian

          Highland Dancing Session B (Full Course) $360.00 Canadian

          Highland Dancing Session A (Half Course) $200.00 Canadian

          Practice Chanter Course (2 days) $150.00 Canadian

          Single Day Session $100.00 Canadian

          Evening Sessions (payable at class) $10.00 Canadian

To register for the school, please complete the registration form and return it with a $100.00 non-refundable deposit payable to the Rob Roy Pipe Band by June 1st, 2008. In addition, we ask that a cheque be sent at this time for the balance of fees payable. The cheque may be post-dated to July 1st, 2008. Please note that a cashed deposit cheque will indicate acceptance of your application. Additional details will be forwarded to you on, or before, June 1st, 2008.

Accommodation

Fees:

          Accomodation (Full Course) $350.00 Canadian

          Accomodation (Half Course - 2 nights) $140.00 Canadian

Accommodation, including meals, is available at Queens University. There are single or double dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms. Meals are cafeteria-style.

The university provides staffing at the residence main desk at all times. While every attempt is made to ensure the safety of residents, primary responsibility rests with each individual student and/or their parent or guardian.

House-Parent

Fee: $75 Canadian

Any student under the age of 18 who is staying in residence must be accompanied by an adult. The KSSM&D will have a house parent on-site during non-school hours. Any minor staying in residence without an adult will be subject to an additional charge to offset the costs of having that house parent.

Parking Pass

Fee: $35 Canadian

Anyone needing to park their car will need a parking pass as parking laws are strictly enforced on campus.
